Heart of the Witch City

Salem, also known as the Witch City, is on the bucket list of every Vampire and Witch. And for good reason. The city is diverse and vibrant… and not to mention- one of the most Magickal places on the planet. The list of places to visit during your trip is looooooong and there are enough photo opportunities to keep your Instagram full for a year! We could write an entire book on this… but in today’s blog, we are going to give you all a peek inside of the Vampfangs Salem Shop located at 244 Essex Street.

Vampfangs is located in the heart of Salem diagonal across from the popular Bewitched Samantha Statue– at the intersection of Essex and Washington. Inside of a historic, beautiful brick-front building sits Vampfangs. The only Vampire shop in New England… and one of only three in the country!

Visiting at Various Times of the Year

Depending on the time of year, the windows might be decorated for winter, with artistic pops of color, or could be highlighting the newest product drops for the Fall Season. You will also likely see displays for Maison Vampyre, our psychic parlour located at 1 Derby Square, and our Endless Night Salem Vampire Ball– the biggest, most elegant party in Salem!

If you visit us during the month of October, be prepared to wait in line to get into the shop. To avoid the lines, we recommend shopping early in the day, or later in the evening. (Mornings are best in October) Also, weekdays aren’t as busy as weekends… so plan another visit to the shop if you are still in town during the week.

Vampfangs Salem Shop Vibe & Decor

When you enter Vampfangs, soak it in as you cross the threshold. The smells of incense, the music, the vibe. It is unique. It is an interesting marriage of a clean, modern aesthetic and an elegant, classic Victorian vibe. The shop is decorated with gothic florals and tons of character. The original tin ceilings are a perfect accent to the brick backdrop. Speaking of bricks… you will notice some bricks decorating the mantle area… more on those in a minute!

The shop is a classic: Old Vibe meets New Vibe. It is what you would expect from a modern, high end Vampire shop. It is one of the elements that has made Vampfangs a destination for every goth and macabre visitor to the city.

Salem Brick Dust: A Piece of History

Now… about those bricks that we mentioned earlier. All of the bricks that you see around the mantle and surrounding decor are salvaged! Each of them are from the famous Essex Street Pedestrian Walkway! We were lucky enough to salvage them during construction in 2018. These bricks were destined for the landfill… but we just couldn’t let that powerful energy go to waste. From time to time, we hand grind some of these bricks and capture the brick dust in small bottles. Keep your eye out for our next LIMITED RELEASE! We haven’t done one since 2019… and even then… we only released 24 bottles for sale to the general public.

Brands You Love: Killstar, Dark Alchemy & More!

As you shop around the store, you will find a mix of local artists and global brands that you love. Some of them you may have seen in stores before… but some of them, like the Occult Luxury brand, Killstar, you might have only ever seen online. We curate a mix of their premium items like bags and purses, as well as their premium apparel styles.

Salem brand, Dark Alchemy, is available exclusively at Vampfangs! We design each one in-house and print them locally. Dark Alchemy favorites include the Twins Hoodie and the Vamp Witch line of crops. The Twins Hoodie sports a killer custom printed back design, a high-neck cowl hood with fat laces, and even thumb holes! This will become your absolute favorite hoodie… trust us on that one!

Dressing Luxe Goth & Dapper

Depending on the time of year you visit, you are sure to find something different. Our collections are always changing, with a focus on a new, in-season product mix. If you visit closer to fall, you may even get to see Luxury brand Shrine of Hollywood. Some fan favorites are our collections of brocade dress vests and are available in 3 different cuts and multiple colors. Our classics are black and red, but be on the lookout for expanded color options coming to our online and brick-and-mortar shop.

If you are looking for that show-stopping coat… you MUST snag a Shrine’s Black Forest Coat. Long, to the floor with faux fur collar and wrist accents. It is an absolute head turner and will get you constant compliments every time you wear it.

Vampfangs Salem Shop and Online Exclusives

Not every item that you see in our Salem shop is available online. And vice versa. Most of our sterling silver jewelry you will ONLY find in Salem. We hand pick each piece and carry a lot of styles and designs you won’t find ANYWHERE else! One of our favorites is a custom designed snake ring from Bali. Each ring is unique and is built around a different gemstone. You will find them with onyx, moonstone, labradorite, citrine, and even amethyst! A truly unique find if you are lucky enough to catch them in the case!

Our collection of Nepali 3-stone rings is also a favorite style! We usually have at least a few different band styles and stone selections… and even overall lengths. We have small versions that accent your existing rings and stacks… and then we have LARGE versions that virtually cover your entire finger and become the focal point of all your accessories.

Fangs, Fangs, Fangs!

In addition to apparel, jewelry, accessories and gifts, you will find… FANGS of course! We generally stock at least 6 styles in the shop. Our Small Fangs and Classic Fangs are the bestsellers. If you prefer to howl at the moon, you will find Werewolf Fangs too! We even carry styles you have not seen anywhere else, like our Viper Split Fangs and Shredder Double Fang Caps. Looking for a truly fun reveal? Retractable Fangs! These newly designed fangs are perfect when you are looking for a theatrical set of fangs. They appear and disappear quickly using a pressure activated mechanism. There are even two types: Default Up Retractable Fangs and Default Down Retractable Fangs.
