Inside Royale Boston: Home of the 2026 Boston Vampire Ball

Inside Royale Boston: Home of the 2026 Boston Vampire Ball

Before the first guest arrives. Before the chandeliers glow. Before the dance floor fills with vampires from around the world, Royale already has a story to tell.

The home of the 2026 Endless Night Boston Vampire Ball is far more than a concert venue or nightclub. Located in the heart of Boston's historic Theatre District, Royale occupies a space that has welcomed generations of guests for more than a century. Originally known as the Bradford Ballroom, the venue has evolved through countless chapters while preserving the grandeur and character that make it one of Boston's most distinctive event spaces.

This September, that history gains another chapter as Le Cabaret Royale transforms the room into a world of gothic elegance, vampire culture, and unforgettable performances. Before we gather beneath its chandeliers, let's take a closer look at the remarkable venue that will host this year's celebration.

A Century of Entertainment

Long before it became the home of the Boston Vampire Ball, the building now known as Royale was already welcoming guests through its doors.

Located in Boston's historic Theatre District, the venue opened in the early twentieth century as the Bradford Ballroom, a grand gathering space designed for an era when elegant ballrooms were at the center of the city's social life. More than a century later, much of that character remains, from the sweeping staircase and soaring ceilings to the architectural details that continue to give the space its unmistakable sense of occasion.

Like Boston itself, the venue has continually evolved. Each generation has left its mark, while the building has remained dedicated to bringing people together through music, entertainment, and unforgettable evenings. Rather than preserving a single moment in time, Royale has embraced change, allowing each era to build upon the one before it.

That evolution reached one of its most memorable chapters during the Roxy years.

The Roxy Era

For many Bostonians, this building will always be remembered by another name: The Roxy.

Opening in 1988, The Roxy quickly became one of Boston's most celebrated nightlife destinations. Named Best New Club by Boston Magazine during its inaugural year, the venue earned a reputation for its enormous dance floor, elaborate productions, live concerts, themed events, and legendary foam parties that are still remembered by longtime patrons today. It wasn't simply a nightclub. It became a defining part of Boston's nightlife culture.

Over the years, countless memorable nights unfolded within these walls as generations of guests gathered to dance, celebrate, and experience one of the city's most iconic entertainment venues. Its influence proved so enduring that decades later, Royale welcomed former patrons back for an official Roxy Reunion, celebrating "the sounds, vibes, and unforgettable energy" that made the club such a beloved chapter in Boston history.

Today, while the name has changed, the purpose remains remarkably familiar. Royale continues to bring people together for unforgettable nights filled with music, performance, and celebration. This September, the Boston Vampire Ball becomes the newest chapter in a venue whose story has been more than a century in the making.

Why Royale Was the Perfect Choice

From the street, Royale is surprisingly unassuming.

Nothing about the exterior prepares you for what awaits inside.

After passing through the entrance and making your way toward registration, the first hint comes into view. A sweeping grand staircase rises along both sides of the room, immediately setting the tone for what lies ahead. Then, as you step into the main ballroom, the space reveals itself.

Our first reaction was simple: "Wow."

Royale feels grand without feeling overwhelming. Soaring ceilings, elegant chandeliers, multiple levels, dramatic lighting, and thoughtfully designed architectural details create an atmosphere that already feels tailor-made for a Vampire Ball. It is sophisticated, theatrical, and full of character before a single piece of Endless Night décor is added.

As we continued our walkthrough, it became clear that Royale wasn't just a beautiful venue. It was the right venue.

Its multi-level design allows guests to experience the event from a variety of perspectives. The expansive main floor keeps everyone connected to the performances, while intimate balcony lounges, private seating areas, and hidden alcoves create spaces for conversation, people watching, and unexpected discoveries throughout the evening.

By the end of our visit, the decision was easy. In fact, we were so impressed that we secured Royale as the home of the Boston Vampire Ball for the next five years. We cannot wait for our guests to experience what makes this venue so extraordinary.

Exploring Royale: What Guests Can Expect

One of the best things about Royale is that it gives guests more than one way to experience the night.

The main floor is large enough to hold the energy of the Ball, with the stage, performances, dancing, bars, and activations all happening in one connected space. General Admission guests will have full access to this level, including several alcoves that we plan to transform into themed moments throughout the evening.

Diamond and VIV guests will also have access to the upper level, which wraps around the room and gives a completely different view of the event. From there, you can look down over the dance floor, watch the stage from above, relax in lounge seating, and still return to the main floor whenever you want.

The venue itself also has plenty of personality. The grand staircase, chandeliers, balcony views, coffin-shaped mirrors, statuary, LED ceiling screens, and built-in photo moments all add to the experience before we even begin dressing the room.

What we like most is that Royale feels big without feeling disconnected. Guests can explore, step away from the main floor, find a quieter corner, or get close to the stage, but it still feels like everyone is part of the same event. That matters for the Boston Vampire Ball. The room gives us the scale we need while keeping the night connected.

The Next Chapter Begins

Every great venue is remembered for the moments that happen inside it.

For more than a century, the building now known as Royale has welcomed guests through its doors for evenings of music, celebration, and unforgettable entertainment. Each generation has left its mark, adding another chapter to a story that continues to evolve.

This September, the Boston Vampire Ball becomes part of that story.

As guests gather beneath the chandeliers, ascend the grand staircase, and fill the ballroom in their finest attire, they'll be creating memories inside one of Boston's most iconic entertainment venues. It's a setting that feels as though it was made for an event like Le Cabaret Royale, and we can't wait to share it with you.

If you haven't already secured your place at the 2026 Boston Vampire Ball, now is the time. We invite you to join us for an unforgettable evening of music, fashion, performance, and vampire culture in a venue whose history is every bit as remarkable as the event itself.

We look forward to welcoming you to Royale this September.
