Tea Mocktail: Mai Tai
The Mai Tai: In the sultry embrace of 1940s tiki culture, the Mai Tai emerged as a mysterious elixir. It’s origins shrouded in the dimly lit corners of tropical escapades. Conceived by the enigmatic hands of Trader Vic or Don the Beachcomber, its true lineage remains veiled in tiki mythology. Legend has it that the Mai Tai’s birthplace was a clandestine lair where sugar and sweet fruit conspired to create an intoxicating potion. As the years passed, the Mai Tai’s murky past only deepened, adding to its allure as a brooding libation, whispered about in the shadows of tropical nights.
Vernal Dawn Tea: Vampires need something sweet. Immersed in the velvety shadows of flavor, our Vernal Dawn tea unveils a haunting equilibrium between tart and sweet. A delicate treat that caresses the palate with a mysterious allure. Infused with the ghostly whispers of rose, lychee, and grapes. This tea is not only a refreshing choice for an afternoon cup—it is an ethereal journey into the depths of taste, promising to linger on the senses like a wistful, moonlit memory.
Vernal Dawn Mai Tai Recipe:
- 1 cup cooled Vernal Dawn
- 1/4 cup of pineapple juice
- Dash of Grenadine
- Dash of orgeat syrup
- Crushed ice
- Pineapple wedges, mint leaf and cherries to garnish
Brew one cup of Dark Alchemy Vernal Dawn tea. Allow to cool in the refrigerator for one hour. In a cocktail shaker, combine Cooled Vernal Dawn Tea, pineapple juice and orgeat syrup with ice. Shake! In a tiki or tall glass, add grenedine to the bottom (dont stir!). Add Crushed Ice, to the glass without displacing the grenadine. Strain the mixture from the cocktail shaker into the glass and granish with pineapple wedge and cherry. Enjoy!
